Thered binder at the back of the hall gives lots of information about pickleball, that would be very useful at these times. The information in this book can also be found online at azpickleballfun.com. Check out this excellent video too Pickleball -- Standard Warm Up with Mark Renneson @ Third Shot Sports The lack of a standardized warm up causes confusion for many pickleball players. It also prevents people from effectively preparing to play the game. Here is a quick demo of what a standard warm up could look like. Each players warms up groundstrokes, volleys, overheads and dinks in under two minutes. Fun Tournaments There is talk of organizing tournaments in 2016. If you are interested in helping out with the organization of these events, hopefully, including women’s and men’s doubles, as well as mixed doubles, we would be interested in hearing from you. Further info will be forth coming as the time draws nearer.
The Thornbury Pickleball Club
The TPC Club has at present almost 100 members. A limit of 125 is what the cutoff will be. Encourage your friends to join our group to enjoy the fun and fitness.
Mark Renneson (Third Shot Sports) Sue Boadway has talked with Mark about giving clinics during some Thursdays at our location. We encourage members to participate in these clinics. Also, the club has given $150.00 in financial support to Mark as he plans to compete in the US Nationals and the US Open shortly.
Help Lining Courts - The Town of the Blue Mountains will be having their Xmas dinner/dance in the rec hall on Sat. Nov. 21st and will be taking up our court lines for the function. It is our responsibility to replace the lines (on Sunday Nov 22nd). Tom is seeking out more volunteers to help with this project. If interested, please contact Tom by phone: 226-665-0118 or via email at email@example.com.
One of the benefits of a group such as ours, is the social activity. On Friday, Oct 23rd, there was a very successful dinner and meet and greet which was held at the Applejack Recreation Center. Many thanks to the social committee for a job well done. ******** To the Snowbirds, migrating south to warmer temps and pickleball courts, we are going to miss you all, and we will be looking forward to your return back to our courts at the Beaver Valley Community Center.
